WHAT WE DO
We provide refurbished tools and equipment to training projects, polytechnics and self-help groups who are working with the following categories of disadvantaged people - secondary school dropouts, young people rescued from the streets, the unemployed, people living with HIV/Aids, people with disabilities, widows and orphans.

WHERE DO WE HELP?
We work in East and Central Africa in specific areas of the following countries: OUR APPLICATION CRITERIA WHAT CAN WE SUPPLY? WHAT WE DO NOT DO HOW TO MAKE AN APPLICATION
- Send a letter by post/e-mail stating clearly -
  1. Where you are and the name and address of the project
  2. What activities your project currently undertakes
  3. How many beneficiaries there are
  4. What tools/equipment you are asking for
Send the letter of application together with copies of any registration certificates and a letter of reference from a local community/church/NGO leader

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER WE RECEIVE YOUR APPLICATION?
  1. All applications are considered by our Project Review Group
  2. Some projects will be rejected - this may be because -
  3. Other projects will be sent a Project Review Document to fill in and return to us giving us
  4. more detailed information about the activities of the group
  5. If approved, our partners in the country will arrange to visit the project to verify the information you have given and to clarify any details
  6. Once approved it may be another 6-12 months before you receive your consignment - we contact you when we are about to despatch the goods and explain the procedure for you to collect them when they arrive in your country
ARE ANY COSTS INVOLVED?
Workaid provides the tools and equipment free of charge and pays the cost of transport to our distribution point- usually the base of one of our partners

You will need to arrange transport to collect the equipment from our partners and deliver to your project; and to pay for this. However there will be no charges from our partners.

WE ARE A SMALL CHARITY RELYING ON THE WORK OF VOLUNTEERS AND THERE IS A LIMIT TO HOW MANY GROUPS WE CAN HELP

AT PRESENT WE ARE ONLY ABLE TO HELP ABOUT A THIRD OF THE GROUPS WHO APPLY TO US
