Workaid_logo GIVE YOUR UNWANTED TOOLS & EQUIPMENT

If you are clearing out your garage or attic, look out for items that we can refurbish and send to training projects overseas. Please make sure donated items are in a reasonable state - tools and equipment in poor condition take longer to repair and reduce the turnover of our workshop. We also have to pay to have scrap metal taken away.

We are still short of hand tools for carpentry, masonry, metalwork, leatherwork and car maintenance; duplicators; desk-top typewriters - manual or electric - preferably with instruction manuals for the electric models. Our sewing machine department also needs all kinds of haberdashery - reels of cotton, zips, bindings, buttons, lace trimmings, lengths of fabric, etc.

We are now collecting the following items:
Welding machines: MIG - no gas/gas amps up to 150/30, mild steel 3-9mm, max weight 70kg. Arc: 230 volt, max weight 70kg
Water pumps: Petrol 3-5.5hp. Max weight 30kg
Generators: Petrol 4-11hp.115/230 volt. Max weight 70kg

If you have any items to donate, please phone or use our ONLINE FORM so that we can arrange collection. You will either be put in touch with your nearest area organiser or added to the collections log for our van driver.

Each year, WORKAID recycles around 60 tonnes of tools and equipment which would otherwise end up in landfill sites.

By donating your unwanted tools and equipment to Workaid instead of throwing them away, you are protecting the environment in this country as well as giving someone else the chance to use them and earn a living.
