'MARTHA' left Felixstowe docks, in Essex, England, on Saturday 10th February on board the vessel MARINA, and arrived at the port of Dar es Salaam in Tanzania on 11th March 2007.

From here 'MARTHA' travelled overland for its onward journey to Workaid's partner, the Community Institute for Youth Development in Ndola, arriving in late June.

Container 'MARTHA' carried on board a large quantity of refurbished second-hand tools and equipment whose combined weight was 9 tons!!
This includes such items as sewing machines, knitting machines, typewriters, carpentry tool kits, horticultural tools, electrical kits, leatherwork kits and other helpful tools such as drills, grinders and saws etc. These tools and equipment have been expertly refurbished and packed into 614 boxes which will ultimately benefit 14 worthwhile self-help vocational projects.
