Container 'ELIZABETH' leaves Amersham for KENYA
| Workaid container 'ELIZABETH', destined for Kenya, left our container storage site in Little Chalfont on Friday 18th May. This is the third Workaid 20' container to be sent to Africa in 2007. | |
| Container 'ELIZABETH' is carrying a large quantity of second-hand tools and equipment, which have been lovingly refurbished by our many volunteers at our workshop in Amersham. On board are 415 items or kits, packed into 667 boxes, whose combined weight is 9,820 Kg!! In all, 22 worthwhile self-help vocational projects will be the beneficiaries.
![]() From this port container 'ELIZABETH' will travel overland for its onward journey to Workaid's partner, the Catholic Diocese of Kisii, in Kisii, into the safe hands of Mr Christopher Otsinde, the Education Secretary of CDK Kisii. It is likely to be sometime in August before the container actually arrives in Kisii as there are often delays en route from Mombasa. |
![]() The vessel carrying 'ELIZABETH', the 'SEALAND NEW YORK', is due to depart from Felixstowe docks, in Essex, on Thursday 24th May and is expected to arrive at the port of Mombasa, Kenya on the 20th June 2007.
