| Workaid container 'DORCAS', destined for KENYA, left Chesham on Friday, February 19th 2010. This is the first container to be shipped to East Africa in 2010 and the fourth 20' container to leave our premises at The Old Boot Factory.

| Container 'DORCAS' is carrying a large quantity of refurbished tools and equipment which have been lovingly refurbished by our dedicated and loyal volunteers at our workshop in Chesham. On board are 346 kits, packed into 706 boxes, whose combined weight is 10.0 tons!! In all, 18 worthwhile vocational training projects and self-help projects will be the beneficiaries thus helping 900 disadvantaged people to escape the cycle of poverty.
The vessel carrying 'DORCAS', the 'MSC MAERSK SENANG' has now left Felixstowe docks and is expected to arrive at the port of Mombasa on the 28th March ( Subject to Congestion In Mombasa ). From this port the container will travel overland to Workaid's partner, the Catholic Diocese of Kisii, into the safe hands of our Workaid partner, Christopher Otsinde. It is likely to be sometime later in the year before the container actually arrives in Kisii for there are often long delays en route. |
