Dawn Cameron-Dick, the international quilting teacher and author, visited Workaid and the Workaid Shop at the beginning of August on her way to teach at Missenden Abbey's Summer School. Workaid regularly holds sewing and haberdashery sales at the Abbey to raise funds and publicise the charity.Earlier in the year Dawn's partner John Caulfield arrived at Workaid with a car full of wools, books and sewing supplies from Dawn for Workaid. He enjoyed looking round our workshops and hearing about the charity.
Dawn always has a tight schedule, so it was a pleasure to be able to welcome her to our premises and show her first-hand how the charity works. She's lived in parts of Africa and is keen to support Workaid's work. Dawn has also kindly donated some copies of her new book and some of her own quilts to the shop.
